Crusaders Trans Pennine Challenger

All about the Trans Pennine Challenge

The Challenge is comprised of 2 parts both raising funds for very worthy causes; blood bikes, Bradford Hospital children's ward and spread a smile.

From Liverpool to Leeds by Dragon boat

This part will start  on the 2nd May in Liverpool and finish on the 8th May where the canal joins the River Aire in Leeds. There will be a break on the 7th May to allow the crews to partake in a day long charity dragon boat race (no rest there then!).

It is an event that has not been completed in a dragon boat before. The schedule is punishing even without the additional challenge of a full on race on the so called rest day in Shipley.

Have a look at the full schedule to see when we come near you as we would appreciate your support just to keep us going and in raising funds for worthy causes.

Bradford Lord Mayor's Appeal Dragon boat Regatta

The second part of the challenge takes place on the 7th day, 7th May at Saltaire Park in Shipley on the River Calder running parallel wit the Leeds and Liverpool canal. It is an event involving circa 40 dragon boats in a regatta format to raise funds.

Racing for the 2015 festival had to be switched to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal after persistent and exceptionally heavy rain the previous night caused the river to dramatically flood in the morning.

Last years even went down to a photo finish final with a win by a Dragons tooth! For further event information click on the Lord Mayor's Dragon Boat Festival.
